Talvez você não saiba, mas ao deixar seu celular sempre em 3G gasta muito energia. Mas por que?
A cobertura 3G das operadoras no Brasil está cada vez melhor, mas está longe de ser perfeita. Quando você fica zanzando com seu celular, muitas vezes você acaba perdendo a conexão 3G e cai na GSM/2G normal. Esse cai-não-cai força seu celular a ficar procurando rede toda hora e isso detona sua bateria.
Ao acessar a internet via 3G, a coisa também pega. Se o seu celular está com a bateria morrendo, acesse a internet via EDGE mesmo que 3G irá matá-lo bem mais rápido.
Ou seja, se você está a toa sem necessidade de ficar online, aconselho a não deixar seu celular em 3G para economizar bateria (isso vale para qualquer celular: iPhone, Milestone, Nexus One, etc…)
No Nokia N900, alterar o tipo de rede é simples: entre em “settings” > “phone” ( no grupo “connectivity”). Agora rode um pouco para baixo e e altere a rede entrando em “Network Selection” deixando em “GSM”. Quando for voltar para 3G, é só fazer tudo de novo.
Simples? Simples nada.. Um saco. Por isso aconselho a baixar o “3G/2G/Dual Mode Selection“. Ele habilita a escolha de tipo de rede direto no menu de configurações do desktop do N900:
Dual, GSM ou 3G com só um clique!
Para instalar, basta entrar neste link com seu N900 e clicar em “install”.
